SUMMARY: PROM IS TOMORROW AND THE GIRLS NEED DRESSES, Kanaya is on this one. Karkat is of course dragged along because he needs a suit.

Jade simply watched as Kanaya searched. She and Rose were so good at things like this, but Jade tended towards wearing basically the same thing every day. It had never mattered on the island. It wasn't like Bec was a fashion critic!

"Oh, well... I do not think any of us knew about this, to be honest!"

Jade pointed to a boring, short green dress. "I can just wear that!"

Rose stayed silent, literally hovering near a rack of dresses. It wasn't that she didn't have anything to say, it was just so frustrating that no one except Feferi understood her. Having conversation outside of text proved to be very troubling because of this.

What was even worse was that everyone who wasn't part of her group, including the people who worked in the store and the customers stayed far away from her. It was probably because of that horrible atmosphere that surrounded her now and her grimdarkness: black aura tendrils and all.

Bluh.

Kanaya pulled out one dress and gave it a good look. "It wasn't actually my idea, Karkat, I was merely convinced it may be a pleasant experience after another proposed it. An opportunity to wear fancy clothes and socialize with the human inhabitants that are in our same situation. We'll have fun, I promise."

Glancing over at the dress Jade indicated, she frowned. "Well, I suppose that could be sufficient, but as I've said before, I see you better in something more colorful. Possibly with a few clashing elements, even."

"Don't you think so, Rose?" Kanaya was still a little uncomfortable with this brand new language barrier, but she's find a way around it, if she could.
