Remus hadn't even been sure he wanted to come over here, but the fact that she was friends with him as an adult had helped some. He liked to think that he was going to be a good judge of character when he grew up. She was also a magician, which was about as close to a witch as he had seen so far in this place.

Either way, he had sat down on the edge of the couch and stayed there when she left room, looking around curiously, but not giving in to the desire to get up and examine them more thoroughly. This wasn't his house and it would be incredibly rude.

So, it does surprise him a little when Miss Zatanna returns and despite seeming a little nervous, still approaching him. The hand on his shoulder surprises him a little and he almost shies away from it, not that used to people touching him anymore, but keeps himself in check, staring at her for a moment as she pulls away to sit down.

"It's all right," he says finally, trying to think of how to answer the question. "I like to read, but that's not very interesting, is it?"

Zatanna was trying to enforce a no-network household for the moment. It might isolate Mitch (and now Remus), but it was safer for both of them. If they got bored, Zee would just take them somewhere outside of the City or play games or something. Considering Remus was about her age, as a child he undoubtedly hadn't seen a lot of things that were popular today, such as video games.

Not that Zatanna encouraged him to sit in front of the television and play video games or watch movies the whole while, either.

She shakes her head when he answers. "No, not at all! Reading is great. What kind of things do you like to read? I like books on magic and history." He seemed the precocious sort, so she might just be able to reel him in with talk of her ancestors...

Remus had been struggling a bit with the communicator, from a year when something that small wouldn't be capable of doing so much. Not even most magical objects could manage it. The ban helps, if only because it means he won't be likely to get into any more trouble. Especially after his run-in with Stein, something Remus will need to apologize for later.

He'd never watched television and would have found it tedious at best and likely not be very entertained by most programs for children his age.

However, the reassurance of his favorite hobby causes him to brighten significantly and he leans forward some.

"You have books on magic?"

That's probably the best answer she'll get for now.

She hadn't been filled in on his escapades thus far, but silently hoped that they wouldn't be comparable to the sort that were terrorizing the streets. He looked innocent enough, but you never know.

"I do." She didn't offer an explanation that how 'real' magic apparently came with imPorts or that most of the ones that she had were fictional in some way or had come with her via her top hat into this world. If they wanted to chat about it later, when he'd changed back, she would be more than happy to. "The library is upstairs. It's not all non-fiction, but I'm sure you'll find something that you'll like." She stands up now and offers him a hand. C'mon, kid, it's book time.
