It took a bit more effort to stay unnoticeable nowadays, given the rather blatant and overall shift in age - height - that had taken hold of the City. Blue could still manage, of course, willing himself to be perceived as something not worth being perceived at all, and in ways it was rather easy. Children had a lot more on their mind than taking time to deal with boring strangers.

So many...

The odds were against it being a permanent change, but Blue couldn't help but fear for them all. Not all were at an age of responsibility, and not all were around one who was...He knew the ones in his own household were well taken care of, but any of those millions who were altered...He would have been wrong to have done nothing. Even just wandering the streets, listening for trouble, was better than doing nothing at all ( ... )

Remus jerks his head slightly at the call, suddenly frightened at the invasion of his mind and the unfamiliarity of the voice. He knows a few spells from reading books before he arrived at Hogwarts, but that wouldn't be nearly enough to defend himself against an accomplished Legilimens.

But instead of moving to run, he freezes up, looking a bit like a trapped animal for all intent and purpose, standing perfectly still on the steps, waiting quietly for the person to show themselves, hoping they wouldn't attack.

The hollow sensation of unfamiliarity was a painful one to feel, giving Blue all the more reason to hesitate. He could already feel his throat tighten with the mounting mix of emotion that came with finding his friend so changed.

But then...how was this any different than when the situation had been reversed? When he had been the one to look at him without recognition? It hadn't stopped Remus from being support. If anything, Blue owed him an offer of the same, whether it was taken or not. He willed himself to move forward and do as such, following the feeling of heightened awareness to the boy's location.

"I'm sorry," he spoke aloud, barely a stone's throw away at that point. "I didn't mean to frighten you."

He manages to keep his place when the strange speaks, eye flickering up to meet Blue's and holding them. For a child, he looks far too ready for anything someone might want to do to harm him, swallowing a little, but otherwise holding his position.

"You didn't frighten me," he lied. "How do you know my name?"
