Damian had a rather traumatizing conversation with Steph yesterday in which he found out that Cass is also a child. This is even more disturbing--or perhaps equally so--than Grayson being twelve years old. So, yes. He had spent some time looking for her.

He eventually comes to the park, and spots her--but doesn't approach yet, because damn she is small and still so good. Wow.

She noticed him, but his body language was non-threatening, so she didn't think much of it. It almost seemed to hint at him knowing her, as well. She just continued to train, flipping around acrobatically and occasionally slamming a small fist into a nearby tree.

He's not sure how to respond, but he's equally relived that Stephanie didn't get them both hit by a truck, or something. So after a moment he wanders over and nods to her.

"You're very good."

[blondevigilante]

Stephanie arrived with two ice cream cones. One was already half eaten as evidenced by the ice cream ring around her mouth. She watched in awe as Suzie did some really amazing karate moves; she wondered if the other girl would teach her some of those moves.

Walking closer she finally spotted someone else and her eyes narrowed. Walking right up to Robin she said, "I bet she's better than you."

She smiled at Damian, and then did a particularly complicated-looking handstand kick. She obviously knew she was good, but still appreciated the praise she got (even if he wasn't her dad).

She stops for a moment when she sees Steph approach, and scampers over to get her ice cream cone. Her dad would surely understand a break in the training for such a wonderful treat!

Oh. Stephanie's here, as well. Damian supposes he also might have been a bit worried about her--or not. He rolls his eyes at her comment.

"Looks like you're still alive. Bet you're worse than both of us." No, it's not childish at all to bait a girl four years younger than you. It's really not.

When Cassandra walks over, Damian nods to both of them, trying to look stern and official.

"Look, you two just can't go wandering around on your own. It's stup--not safe."

Her face doesn't change even as she give Suzie her ice cream cone. "There aren't even any bad guys around!" Looking back at her friend she held out a hand. "Come on Suzie, he's mean and stupid. He called me Fattie." It's not that word that bothered the six year old, it was the fact he was so mean for no reason. He reminded her of her dad.

Oh. This was the mean guy. He shouldn't be so mean to her friend! She shoved the ice cream back to Steph and walked up in front of Damian. And then she quickly dropped to the ground and tried to sweep him off his feet with a tiny leg.

Oh, fantastic. He finally gets a fight with Cassandra, and she's half his size. His reflexes are good, however, and he manages to jump back a few feet before she's able to knock him over--whether she actually could is not something he wants to contemplate.

"Stop that! I'm trying to help you." This is clearly why being nice is a horrible idea.

There's a slight look of glee in her eyes at Suzie's attack. Even as the girl missed him Steph still had the need to gloat. "Told you she was really good."

Cass almost pursues him to continue her attack, but stops when she notices his body language. Trying to help? A stern look crosses her face and she points to Steph.

Damian sighs and runs a hand through his hair. His patience is really wearing thin, here, and he has no idea how to deal with little girls.

"...yeah, and I never said I didn't believe you." He watches as Cassandra points to Stephanie, and then asks, "What?"

"She said you were mean to me." Steph totally speaks silent Suzie after the day with her.

She nodded emphatically after Steph spoke. Her first and only friend wasn't even close to being fat!

This is clearly impossible. Damian lets out an exasperated huff.

"I wasn't mean to you, I was trying to figure out where you were. It was sort of important."

[blondevigilante]

"You called me a name," Stephanie practically yelled at him.
