Minato had started an early shift at one of the part-time jobs he'd managed to get in the city, and he was done for the day, having a few hours until his next shift in another job, and until then, he figured he would spend some time outside, considering the weather was decent enough and there were no pigeons or rats trying to jump at him, which was definitely a step up from how things had been.

Carrying with him an over-sized lunch box, the blue-haired boy looked around the park he found himself in, looking for a place where he could sit down to eat. Despite being a work day, there were a lot of families around, and children playing. He did spot one sitting by himself and looking a little bit out of place though, and tilted his head, before approaching the boy carefully. "Mind if I join you?" He asked, nodding toward the seat next to him, as it was most polite to ask first.

After all, maybe he wanted to be alone.

Czes startled, genuinely, at Minato's appearance--he had been busy watching the children enjoying themselves--but his surprise quickly morphed into a pleasant, if somewhat timid, smile.

"Sure mister, I don't mind."

"... Oh. Sorry. Didn't mean to startle you." Minato said, with an apologetic sort of look on his face, before sitting down next to him, keeping a fair bit of distance between them, as the kid seemed to be one who'd like to keep his personal space. His voice sounded.. Kind of familiar, but he couldn't remember where he'd heard it, or he could just be imagining things, so he didn't think of it for now.

He put his lunch box on his lap for now, glancing over at the kid and then at the kids playing again. It was strange, seeing one not playing with the others even if they were right there, but then, maybe he was just waiting for his parents or something. Still, though...

"... I don't think they'd mind if you played with them, you know..." He said after a long moment of silence, glancing at him once more. It seemed a bit lonely, for a kid to be sitting here all alone like this.

"Oh, I...I just don't know anyone. I don't want to butt in," Czes said mildly, swinging his legs. He was really playing it up.

And at one of those parks (AMAZINGLY SHE ISN'T STALKING A PLAYGROUND I KNOW IT'S UNBELIEVABLE), Czes might just happen to see this woman, sitting on a relatively secluded bench! What... a creep.

Lust had just returned from an interview, and was currently passing time between skimming a newspaper--so many interesting developments had occurred since she had left that it was hard to count them all--and idly people-watching. It was the suit that caught her eye first--surely they didn't still make them like that--and even though the vague anime characterization of the era was a little off compared to what she had been in style for Amestris at the time of her death, she couldn't help but feel a slight sense of nostalgia. After two years, it was easy to forget just how far ahead of her time she was ( ... )

Coincidentally, at the exact same time that Lust happened to be sitting on that bench, Czeslaw happened to be looking for a relatively secluded bench to sit on! Creeps and more creeps.

He ambled through the area, watching people doing the types of things you usually do in a park, looking for a good place to rest his weary feet.

Lust's bench looked like a good place, even if it was already occupied. Women tended to believe his childish act more readily and that could be convenient...so he headed for the bench with a sweet little smile in place.

"Excuse me, miss...do you mind if I sit for a few minutes?"

"Of course not."

She smiled politely back at him, shifting to the far side of the bench and giving no indication that she was anything less than completely charmed by the boy's manners. To be fair, she didn't have much in the way of untoward urges to hide; he at least knew his place, and this was a way to indulge her curiosity. She tipped her head to the side, adopting a mild expression somewhere between interested and concerned; her tone, however, stayed casual.

"No school today?"

A question about school. It was just one more painful reminder to Czes about how he wouldn't be able to navigate this futuristic world without a guardian figure. It was a little galling.

But no matter how the casual comment stung, Czes remained polite and semi-shy on the outside.

"My brother teaches me at home, miss," he admitted. He hoped that was a valid excuse--it sounded legit, anyway. "He said I could have a break today."

Under the shade of a tree near one corner of the park was a small gathering of kids, all varying in age from the very young to those who were just old enough to be self-conscious about being there. All of them were sitting or kneeling in various formations around one notably taller man in a red blazer. There seemed to be a game going on that had drawn the crowd in the first place -- a certain card game, it turned out. It not being as popular as it might've been at home sure didn't stop Juudai from doing what he did ( ... )

Czes was certainly hanging back from the crowd, mostly so that he could escape if whatever was going on didn't look sufficiently interesting.

It was default for him to look shy, though, and that combined with his anachronistic clothing probably made him an easy target.
