[ What's this? Mikoto arriving before Bart? It's very possible, when you're the fastest boy alive. . .

And have to sit through a few hours of romantic comedies to know just what to do on a date.

Grife, those were painful. Not only were they boring, but there was no action! Where were the chase scenes? The explosions? Though grudgingly, he watched them anyway; she's a friend, after all, and Bart could never turn down a friend asking for help.

A familiar gust of wind, and suddenly flowers appear out of nowhere! Those flowers will be falling not-so-gracefully into your hands as an unmasked Bart reaches for a comic on the shelf. ]

Cool. I haven't read this one.

[ And reads it he does! In all of 0.5 seconds. He then puts it back and turns her attention to her. ]

Hey, Misaka!

[ Bart is still wondering what Mikoto muttered, but maybe he'll ask later. Now, he can see that this girl is speaking in English --which means she is also speaking directly to him. He's on his own. Welp.

He also sees the look Mikoto is casting at him. DOUBLE WELP?? ]

A day? [ Good old honest Bart! ] Wait, no -- uh, it just feels like a day! 'Cause we ... love each other a lot. Andthatmakestimegorealfast.

[ HE IS DOING A TERRIBLE JOB. BUT WHAT'S NEW? That girl is really not amused now. She types something out for Mikoto to see: ]

You didn't tell me you had a boyfriend the last time we met.

[Mikoto's smile continues to become lopsided as she listens to Bart ramble. Even though she can't understand exactly what he's saying, she sure can see by the girl's expression of disgust and disapproval and by the nervous intonation of his voice that he's doing a crap job at this.]

[And then she sees the girl's message, and her eye twitches again. But! She quickly goes back into a cutesy grin. Dammit, with the way things were going, she didn't really want to fall back on that Last Resort she thought up last night...]

O-oh, well, you see, he's pretty shy about it, so I didn't want to just tell you without him actually being around, you know?

[ Once again, Bart wonders what Mikoto just said. AND ONCE AGAIN, now's not a good time to ask. The girl shows them both her cellphone, hands crossed in disapproval. ] Shy? He doesn't look that shy to me.

[ She casts Bart a nasty look, and he swallows. She then types her next message: ]

More nervous, actually.

[ OKAY, HE'S GOING TO TRY AND FIX WHATEVER HE MESSED UP. Bart has never had proximity issues, so he --determined to do a good job-- pulls Mikoto into a tight embrace. ]

Nervous? Who's nervous? Why would I be nervous around my ... girlfriend?

[ Though the hug is convincing, his words AND THE FACT THAT THAT HUG WAS COMPLETELY RANDOM conspire against him. The girl scowls, but wears her best face for the message she shows to Mikoto next: ]

[But guess who DOES have proximity issues! Mikoto! Especially since she was already kind of holding onto him to begin with, her face is in dangerously close proximity to his!

She turns ridiculously red, but then realizes----

It's Go Time. As her hands are now moving up to either side of Bart's face, she gives the fangirl a crooked grin.]

[She's still blushing, but manages to look into Bart's eyes, saying nervously, but firmly, in Japanese:]

Kore ha, yuiitsu no ii furi desu ka?

[And then, more sweetly, with an appropriately maidenly expression, as she moves her face closer...]

Anata wa watashi wo mamotte kureru ka?

[From the fangirl's perspective, Mikoto is now kissing Bart.

From Bart's perspective, he's now actually locking lips with Sellotape.

From Mikoto's perspective, the Sellotape is...not coming off like she planned it to (thus prolonging the "kiss" ew), and she frowns, shifting her eyes toward the fangirl, who has let out the single most inhuman scream of horror known to humanity...]

Mmf --?? [ OKAY. THIS, BART DID NOT EXPECT. His whole body stiffens, and his eyes widen. If it weren't for the sellotape, he would be gaping right now.

A few people on the network did mention 'kissing', however, so he honestly should have seen it coming. It wasn't like this was his first time, either(and his first kiss with Carol was just as clumsy); he could do this! Make it convincing! Easing up just a bit, he rests his hands on Mikoto's shoulders, helping her lean forward.

And in a few seconds, the 'kiss' is over! Or, well, it should be over -- it would be over if it weren't for that little sellotape malfunction. The longer Mikoto fumbled to pry the tape off, the longer their kiss seemed to be, and the louder the fangirl wailed. ]

[ It is when tears start to well up in the fangirl's eyes that Bart knows HE BETTER DO SOMETHING. In a millisecond, the tape disappears. Bart just ripped it off and stashed it into his pocket.

Ow. Maybe he should have vibrated it out. Well, no time to think about that now. There is a crying girl in front of them! ]

Aw, grife. Hey, don't cry!

[Oh, thank god. The moment Bart rips off the tape, Mikoto pulls away, avoiding any further unnecessary contact (this was still pretty gross even with the tape). She's still a little shell-shocked, so it takes her a hot second to realize that the girl is bawling.

When it hits her, however, Mikoto's brow furrows, and she blurts out:]

Ah...ano...

[She goes ignored, though, as the girl dramatically runs away. Mikoto...blinks, scratching her chin. Um. Well. Okay. That hadn't gone as planned.]

Aa, suke...

[Oh, but it gets better. Because, as it turns out, six more girls had been watching the 'kiss.' And now all of them are screaming.]

[ Bart feels terrible. What kind of superhero makes girls cry? He's no better than a super-villain, at this point. And some super-villains don't even make girls cry!
He reaches out for the sobbing fangirl, but she's already running away. ]

Wait, come back! [ He could catch up with her easily, but what good would that do?

Oh, great. More screaming. Bart looks over his shoulder to find six girls charging right at them. ]

Huh??! Where did they come from?

[ NOW WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO MAKE A GETAWAWY.

AW, CRUD. HE CAN'T USE HIS SUPER SPEED WITH SIX GIRLS STARING AT HIM.

FINE, NORMAL SPEED IT IS. He grabs Mikoto's hand and starts to run. ]

----Kyaa!

[THEM GIRLS, THEY DON'T LOOK HAPPY----Mikoto gulps loudly, making sure to hold on to Bart's hand and...waitaminit. WHY IS HE NOT GOING AT SUPER-SPEED?! THEY'RE GONNA DIE! Mikoto glares at him, then smacks him upside the head.]

Baka! Hayakuikou!

[ ALWAYS WITH THE SMACKING AND THE VIOLENCE AND THE -- he reads the message, and starts to type: ]

[ Then, he spots a conveniently-placed alley! ]

[ CHANCE! He makes a sharp turn. Once he's confident that he's out of their line of sight, he immediately swoops Mikoto up AND SPEEDS OFF.

The next time she blinks, she'll find herself eight blocks away. ]
