Ladd spotted Luck pretty easily. He was always good at remembering faces, and Luck Gandor was starting to become one of those faces it was important to know in the crime circuit.

Of course, that didn't matter now. Ladd had liberated himself from all that boring stuff his uncle was so interested in. Life was far too short for Ladd Russo. But, a familiar face that wasn't that bastard or his tiny girlfriend? It was pretty much a blessing to Ladd. Of course, Luck wasn't Lua but at least it wasn't someone he hated.

"You're Luck Gandor, right?" he said. He had slide right next to him at the bar, an empty glass of some nameless beverage in his hands. "Ladd Russo! From the Russo family. I think you might have met my uncle." He held out a hand to shake.

"I'm a little surprised to be recognized," Luck said as he reached to shake the hand that Ladd offered. His grip was polite, firm, and brief, and his voice was faintly wry. "The name 'Gandor' doesn't mean anything around here."

He paused momentarily, considering Ladd. "Your uncle is Placido Russo, isn't he? We've done some business. I've heard a thing or two about you, as well."

"Of course you have! A lot of people like to talk about me, after all." Ladd said flippantly. "I just hope they were nice things! After all, I wouldn't want to be dragging my poor uncle's name into the dirt."

Ladd is pretty quick to assess Luck with his eyes. Nothing too formidable in his physical form but he was a real sneaky bastard, he knew that. Ladd didn't plan to kill him, of course. That would just be impolite.

"Yes," Luck agrees with a calm smile, "that would be unfortunate." There's no point in going into the details of what he's heard about Ladd, which at least from Luck's point of view has mostly not been complimentary. In any case, Luck seems relaxed enough; he's not especially worried about what Ladd might or might not do, at least not at the moment. "How has this city been treating you?" he wonders.
