For the first time ever, Rue felt invigorated after dancing with Fakir. He'd moved with such passion, such force. The dance had felt more like a battle then a seduction, but that suited her fine. Easily slipping into the old movements of Kraehe, she'd danced with her own forcefulness behind her, moving against his anger and strength. Already, she could sense a new ballet being formed from their dance.

Sweat dripping from her brow, she headed over to the bench, taking a drink of water as she sat down.

"That was good," she said, a little out of breath. "Very good. Now why couldn't you have danced like that in the first place?"

Duck simply sat wide-eyed, taking in the pas de deux in silent admiration. Rue was so beautiful, Fakir so graceful, both of them fueled by anger and sadness and a power that took her breath away. Part of her envied them so deeply it hurt, and part of her felt awed to be allowed to watch them.

"Wow," she managed, very quietly.

"Because pretending to be in love with you is very draining," Fakir replied flatly as he leaned against the far wall.

He smiled at Duck very faintly. "I guess you noticed an improvement, too?"

"Well," she said, taking another drink. "Now that we've seemed to figure it out, we need to work on it some more."

Rue was energetic, exited. Even though she was out of breath, and undoubtedly tired, she was eager to dance again.

"Grab my hand like that again," she said, speaking quickly and excitedly. "Just as hard. I don't mind if you don't hold back, and I know you don't."
