He looked in shop windows, marvelling at the prosperity. Good lord, they simply had everything, and lots of it. It was like looking at a fantasy world, really.

He was lost in his thoughts, his memories. About the people he wished could have lived to see such a world, where all peoples were mixed together and nobody seemed to care. It was, perhaps, for that reason, that he accidentally bumped into a woman.

"Oh, I am terribly sorry. Do forgive me, fraulein."

Despite acquiring her daughter's clothes upon the time of her being 'ported back home, Sally couldn't really bring herself to wear those clothes. One reason being she never really did hand-me-downs, and another being...well, those clothes reminded her of her kid. It just wasn't in good taste.

Her window-shopping escapades were cut short when she was bumped into, and she would have kept going had the man not said anything. However, the familiar word 'fraulein causes her to pause. The term struck a chord, but she put on a smile nevertheless and waved the apology away.

"It's not a problem, hon, I should've been paying closer attention to where I was going myself."

He nodded.

"Still, I feel an apology is owed. I am usually more aware of my surroundings. Just...I am not used to such...bounty, I believe the term is.

He bows from the neck, clicking his heels. Her hand is gently taken and kissed, in the manner of the old guard.

"Major Hans Von Hammer, at your service."

At night, pick a night carrytheshield January 5 2011, 02:04:16 UTC
With Gerry still not in the mood to put on a costume and join him, James patrolled alone most nights. He was confident enough in his abilities not to be too worried.

He had his dad's shield, so it didn't really matter if he still had no idea what kind of power he'd been given. James did discover that tying people up after he stopped them was more difficult without Gerry's webs.

James was still up for the task, and stood back to look over the two thugs for a moment before continuing down the alley to resume his patrol.

It might've been cold, but Sally couldn't resist slipping into that little number of hers and patrolling. While most of her busts had been set up by Larry, and occurred in broad daylight, there was something nostalgic about wandering the alleyways at night. Though usually she had HJ or Hollis by her side.

It wasn't like she was planning on getting herself into anything at night, mostly it was all for the sake of nostalgia, and damn did she have it bad. Especially considering the fact that she was risking hypothermia for the sake of it. But it was a relatively mild night for winter, and she did have a jacket over her shoulders.

She makes a turn down an alley, unaware that it was already occupied by another patrolling the streets.

For a moment James thinks the sound of someone approaching comes from reinforcements for the pair he stopped. He shifts the shield to his arm. Though when the person becomes clear it's obvious that isn't the case.

The black and yellow costume isn't familiar, and looks like it shouldn't be warm enough. James discovered that a huge upside to a mask that covers most of his head is the added warmth.

"That doesn't look like a very good cold-weather costume."

Josh wasn't usually one to go patrolling in the evening, but it was becoming a more and more frequent thing. Most nights he didn't even run across anyone, he had no idea how actual superheroes patterned their patrols so they met all sorts of criminal activity, but Josh just took to walking through alleys and running along rooftops.

While he didn't have any specific costume, usually going with jeans and a black shirt under his long trench coat. Normally he didn't encounter any other heroes either, but tonight he seemed to be in luck (or unlucky, he wasn't sure who it was) when he ran across someone else.

It was another one of those nights. She had no reason to head home, so instead chose to wander around the streets, trying to find something familiar in a place that was still unfamiliar when put in comparison to her decade's city. Her jacket was open now, revealing the provacative excuse of a costume she was famous for back home, and though she wasn't anticipating anything, there was still the way that the fabric clung to her that gave her a mixed feeling of confidence and dread.

Christ she had such mixed opinions about her costume.

Like Josh, Sally wasn't expecting to run into anyone else, but lo and behold her luck never turned out as expected. It takes her a moment, but she recognizes the face. She smiles.

"Well if it isn't a familiar face."

When Josh finally realized who it was, for a moment he just stared. Superheroes went around in rather revealing costumes, but he had never been up close and personal with one before, especially one as attractive as Sally. His jaw didn't hang open too much before he smiled.

"Hey, how are you?"

[ Selina's enjoying herself. Time for a celebratory drink. A nicer bar than some nights. She's not looking for a fight this time. ]

[For Sally, it was sort of the opposite. She was out for a drink, but not a celebratory one. There wasn't really anything for her to celebrate. Her kid was gone, her team was bullshit...

So instead she enters the bar and takes a seat unknowingly next to Selina, head to wrapped up in shit to even take in her surroundings.]

[ Selina's a little more aware. ]

Hey Sally.

[It takes her a moment and she already has a drink in hand when she turns and spots Selina. Immediately she brightens up.]

Well isn't this a coincidence! I barely recognize you in this lighting.

[A lie, but she's covering up the fact that she's completely oblivious to her surroundings.]

He had been reading over the new Network posts and keeping his ear to the ground for names that he recognized from home. There was Norman Osborn (that stupid fuck in a nut house, ha ha) and Spider-Man (going to rip the smile right off his face) and Punisher (he still owed him a good kill) and a few other names he could give two shits about, but he filed them all away for future use. Bullseye had also been exploring the streets--the alley ways and bridges and crack houses other super heroes and goodie two shoes didn't go near. The first thing he learned was that despite this place looking like New York, it was nowhere close. He had to relearn all the routes and coffee shops and hang-outs, replacing old information with new. It was all leading up to something bigger and more satisfying than he could ever dreamDaredevil ( ... )
