He folded his newspaper evenly, too proud to correct the error, too bored to continue the puzzle. The snow-encased city greeted him out of his thoughts, and that frozen moment bought him awareness. A mirror. Eddie stared down at the paper in his hands, his eyes slowly widening.
That was very nearly a clue.
"Hardly," he scoffed to himself, making a show of dropping the folded paper onto that lonely green bench he was occupying. This was a new year dawning, a time of change. A New World Order. Norman Osborn would crumble, because of what he had done to Edward Nygma. Because of what he would have done to the world. Eddie was a hero, orchestrating this, placing the necessary pieces in a necessary order. He needn't feel guilt over his actions, this wasn't a riddle. Why should it be?
"I'm a hero."
The blanketed city stared back, clean of judgment.
