For a moment, Duck was almost shocked to hear Mytho admit to being tired--even before bedtime, or when it was late at night and he'd been rehearsing hard, he never let on that he was anything but okay. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but a sudden memory struck her, squelching her surprise.

A prince feels that pressure constantly.

He's just like us, she realized, and for the first time it really began to sink in. He works really hard to be the best prince he can be. So somebody should go easy on him--and why not his friends?

She smiled at him, her expression warm with the beginnings of understanding.

"It's been a long week," she said. "I'm sure you worked really hard--we could all use a rest after the midterm exams!"
