WHO: Lily and OPEN WHERE: The streets of the city WHEN: Late morning, early afternoon WARNINGS: None yet SUMMARY: Lily got bored of sitting around Remus' and decided to take a walk. FORMAT: Whatever!
A stray cat wandering down the City streets was not an uncommon sight. It was a perfect way for Cheshire to get around when he wanted to go unseen, without using his powers. It was less attention grabbing than his Wonderland form, and there was less chance of him getting kicked from being invisible.
Yes, walking around like a normal stray worked wonders.
Wonders when he was not darting between peoples' legs humming some odd song/poem.
Lily looked down when she felt something brush against her leg, smiling at the cat. The only cats she ever saw were the ones people had as pets at Hogwarts, but she loved them anyway.
"Hi, kitty," she said, kneeling beside him. She thought she heard an odd humming, but dismissed it, figuring she was hearing things.
Cheshire's gaze turned to Lily, grinning quite large for a cat. "Why hello, my dear." he purred. It wasn't often that people actually stopped him, unless they knew who he was - and that was rare. He didn't recognize this human, so he doubted that was the reason she'd spoken to him.
Lily gasped, eyes going wide. Had the cat just spoken to her? That was....new. Not even at Hogwarts did animals talk- unless you count centaurs as animals, in which case only MOST of the animals didn't talk.
With a school as unique as Xavier's, one cool thing was that school wasn't necessarily your regular 8-3 affair. Which meant that some days Josh got out early enough to enjoy the afternoon. Lately he'd been spending most of his free time at work, trying to earn all the money he could.
Fortunately today he had some free time to wander about the city. Unfortunately, he spent most of that time texting and checking the network, so he didn't notice the redhead until he literally bumped into her.
"Are you sure?" Josh asked, looking and feeling absolutely miserable that he had actually knocked her down. Slipping his phone in his pocket he winced.
"I really should have been watching where I was going."

"I don't think I ever got your name," she said. Their conversation hadn't been particularly long.

"Oh crap! I am so sorry!"

"I'm alright," she assured, standing up and brushing herself off before looking at the guy who'd run into her.

Now she was teasing him, trying to make light of the situation. It had been an accident, and there was no need for him to feel bad about it.
