[It's shortly after the Joker's post and Cassie's shaking as she walks down the street, heading to a brightly-lit diner where she knew she could get a free meal. Not that she had an appetite after that post, no-siree, but she needed to be in public, around people.

If Nick were here, she'd be plastered to his side as he tried to calm her down. But Nick wasn't here and she had to make due. Anything would be better than being alone right now.

Anything.

Clutching her bag, she walked hastily down the sidewalk, not looking where she was going.]

[ Constantine turns a corner and finds himself the proud new owner of a teenager stumbling into him rather hastily. He can't even stop himself from cursing before falling back on his ass. ]

Oh, bugger it all you sodding twat! Watch where you're--

[ And then he sees how young she is...]

--Strewth. [ He shakes his head, and stands up, offering her his hand for much of the same. ] Don't I look like a right berk right now.

[Cassie stumbles back herself, biting back a curse as she tries to hold onto her bag. Managing to stay upright, she just... stares at the man she knocked over.]

Who in the what now?

[She has no idea what he just said.]

Never you mind, luv. Just didn't see you there.

[ He brushes himself off, his trenchcoat fluttering with the movement. ]

I didn't break anything, did I?

[ Wanda is out with a lavish fur coat and bags of groceries. Her heels click-clack against the pavement as she brushes through the crowds like she owns the world. She's been constantly on edge and doesn't watch at all where she's going as she shoves people aside. ]

[ Okay, you know what? He's had enough of everyone in this fucking city be so rude. Once the woman tries to shove him out of the way, he tries to slip his hand into her purse and steal her wallet, just to spite her. ]

[ Being a trained agent of S.H.I.E.L.D Black Ops...Wanda's reaction is quick (naturally, not as quick as her brother's, but he's not here). She catches his wrist in her hands and narrows her eyes dangerously. ]

A petty pocket thief? How dull.

[ He gives her a shit-eating grin before trying to break the hold with a deft roll of the wrist, her wallet still in hand. ]

Petty, me? Ya think you should be throwin stones, luv?

Early in the morning, when the fog still lurked in the cities, he walked. Often taking scope of the land, but today, today he'd seen something new. A new ping in his scope of vision, and he'd followed it. Lurking from behind, watching.

Only a man. Yet another human with so much power. Approaching was something he considered, yet he continued to hang back, and observe.

Years of fieldwork had left Constantine with a near-perfect sense of when something unimaginably nasty was watching him. He neither picked up his pace nor gave any other indication that he knew he was being followed, and continued on his way, head down, shoulders stiff, a near-impeccable picture of a man on his way to work.

After a block or so, he lit up a Silk Cut at a stoplight, and waited to see if he was still being followed.

He did follow. Up until the man stopped, and then he hovered. He didn't hide. He didn't have a need to do so. For a moment, he considered to merely wait until the thought of waiting for the man to do something bored him.

Instead, he continued walking, closing in on the lamp post. From the fog, he approached, his wake beginning to burn off the thick moisture until what was once hard lines of green glowing in the mist resolved into a creature with hard lines of green emanating from his body, eyes glowing from beneath cloth over his eyes.

The feeling that he was being watched only increased the longer John waited for the bloody light to change. His thumb ached from where he'd bitten into it while lighting up his cigarette, and he absentmindedly rubbed on the inside of his trench in an effort to drive the pain away -- though, depending on if what he had planned worked or not, a sore thumb would be the least of his worries.

He turned to face the glowing beastie the moment the fog recoiled from it like some kind pack of horrified ghosts. He wasn't surprised that the thing was the usual fare -- some right huge demon born from the depths of hell, eyes glowing, with arcane marks tattooed into its body and an attitude as bad as its order. He put on a brave face.

"Hullo gov'na, fancy meeting you here."

[Diana hasn't exactly gotten a chance to talk to John even though they're living in the same house. So many things have been happening, and she's barely had time to acknowledge the newest member of their household. So, when she sees him a block away from where she's walking, Diana decides to approach him. There's nothing intimidating or suspicious about her presence -- she just wants to talk.]

[ John had never been one for the superheroic, man and woman in tights scene. He preferred the back-alleys and the shadows, the darkness that wore no face rather than a painted one -- he lived in the detritus of mankind, and knew the ins and outs of it all almost as well as he knew his way around London. ]

Bloody 'ell.

[ He knows who Diana is in a very vague, filtered way. He's never been asked to join the League -- officially -- but she's one of its most important figureheads, and his new housemate to boot. He stops once she gets close, and exhales smoke to the left of them, not wanting to start off on the wrong foot. ]

Wotcher, Di -- how's it goin'?

Well, thank you. And you?

[Diana doesn't know John personally -- she's only heard about him, and a lot of it wasn't very pleasant. She doesn't want to assume anything, though. She's not big on first impressions; she prefers to get to know a person instead of making quick judgments. Besides, Zatanna seems particularly close too him, and Diana counts that for something.]

Could be better, could be worse. You know how all that nastiness goes.

[ His reputation precedes him. It always has. He knows that Wonder Woman isn't quite as gung-ho about, well, anyone from his side of the tracks, so part of him intrinsically knows that they won't get along, which makes him try harder than usual to watch himself around here. ]

You always take the scenic route?
