Kaiba was waiting at the base of his skyscraper for his rival to show up. It looked different than the KaibaLand in Domino, but had enough similarities that it would be easy to spot. The two Blue Eyes White Dragon statues out front should give it away if nothing else did. He was wearing his white dueling jacket, the duel disk already strapped over a bracer.

He'd been cheated out of a duel with Yuugi the last time he had been there. His tournament hadn't ended anyway he had thought it would. And then Yuugi had been ported out before he could properly challenge him. It was another loss that Yuugi had been able to find a way out before he did. But that score was even now, but there was another that would never be settled until he'd trounced Yuugi once and for all.

He uncrossed his arms as the other approached and waited until he was close enough to start the mandatory, pre-duel taunting.

The dragons were definitely hard to miss! In fact, Yuugi was hit by a wave of nostalgia just by seeing them. It had been a while since he had seen any sort Duel Monsters that were familiar, as Ruka’s deck was from the future.

He stopped right in front of Kaiba, and craned his head upward. It appeared the male posturing was already begun, as Yuugi straightened his back and puffed his chest out a bit. This may have looked strange to outsiders, but Duel Monsters wasn’t just a game of monsters, skill, honor, and elaborate strategies; it was also one of trash-talk and ridiculous poses. Yuugi knew that best, considering most of his duels had been won by his ability to berate his opponent.

“Kaiba,” he nodded to him. It was about as much as a greeting the other was going to get right now. Though were they ever ones for idle chit-chat?

The fact that neither of them wasted time with words was what allowed them to ‘get along’ in the loosest sense of the term. Or at least, it kept Kaiba from being annoyed just by his presence, like he was with most people. As long as they were just going to duel and he didn’t go into any of that ‘saving the world’ bullshit. He took the bait of the posturing and straightened even further to need to look down his nose just to see Yami. It was always easy to look imposing just be standing there when your opponent was that much shorter than you.

“No entourage?” Kaiba asked with a smirk. It was novel concept to be able to duel Yami alone with out the pack always at his heels. (Mokuba always at his heels was completely different.) The last time had been Battle City. This wasn’t nearly so overdone, but he would take it.

Yuugi diverted his eyes away from Kaiba’s gaze for a moment, before he glared right up at him. His friends weren’t even in the City, and Kaiba was going to mock them anyway? His jaw tightened, and his fists were clenched at his side.

“No. Just us,” there was definitely something threatening about his words. Maybe because what he really wanted to do was yell at Kaiba about how inappropriate he was being.
