"He do something to deserve that brush off that I don't know about or are you just not in the mood for company today?"

Carmen leaned herself on the far side of his desk, holding her own mug and nodding to his, which sat empty, with a raised brow of offering. If she was going to the coffee maker there was no reason not to take his mug along with her and spare him a hobble across the room on the knee brace when he got thirsty of his own accord.

Carmen's presence snapped Sheldon from his thoughts and his head snapped toward her direction which was the only apparent reaction to his startled person. "Not really. He shouldn't have been in here, that's all." Sheldon attempted a small smile that came across as a sarcastic smirk.

Sheldon returned his attention back to his paperwork. "Actually, I have a lot of work to do and this file isn't going to sort itself. How are you holding up?" He nearly smacked himself for asking a question that those that were present the day Elisa died couldn't answer with just words.

"I'm okay." Carmen's voice was subdued, her smile dissappearing at the question. Her answer was a well practiced lie. She hadn't slept a full night since Elisa's murder and restlessness was clawing at her every waking moment but trying to explain the feeling did little to convey it, so she's stopped trying.

"The paperwork anything I can help with? I've run out of my own at this point."

Being sleepless and needing something to focus on HAD at least done wonders for her productivity.

"Yeah." Sheldon's own voice was subdued since one person that he cared about deeply was dying and he wasn't able to see her due to the radiation and the other was dead and buried which didn't help his own well being much ( ... )

"I believe Vlad the Impaler is considered a hero among the people of Romania, Officer Sands. His methods were cruel, but he did free them from Ottoman rule." A recently freed Aaron walks up to Sheldon's desk and glances around the department. It feels changed since he was last here.

Sheldon's face snapped up from the sound of Aaron's voice. He was used to being by himself mostly and his senses were not tuned in at the time. He stood up from behind his desk and smiled. "You have a point. How are you doing?"

Aaron gave his usual greeting of a tight-lipped smile as Sheldon stood to meet him.

"Well enough." He was still pretty irritated at being wrongfully imprisoned, but he wasn't about to voice that. "Better now that I can return to work. How may I be of assistance?"

He sighs and takes his seat again and motions his hand over the stack of files. "I need a suspect. My contacts are either dead or they disappeared and I have nothing to present to the D.A. other than a hunch." He slapped his pen down and gives a voice of exasperation. "I'm stuck in the chicken coop until this shit clears up."

He leans back in his chair and props his good leg on his desk. "Any news on the one that framed you? Maybe there's a connection."
