His footsteps on the cold marble floor of the hallway marked his approach, echoing ominously. Norman flipped through papers as he walked, already busy with an assortment of things from Crane's return to Harry's message to Stark's bizarre attempt at framing him. Certainly enough to keep him occupied.

He opened the door to his office, and stopped cold in the doorway. There was a woman in his chair. A woman in his chair.

And he knew her, too.

"Karla."

She loved Norman's reaction. He hid it well, but she was certain that he wasn't happy about her being here, and that just made it even better.

"Hello, Norman," She leaned back in the chair, propping her feet up on the desk, looking very much like she owned the place. Hell, given enough time, she probably could, since she knows so well how Norman's mental condition is, especially after the attack on Asgard. She wondered just how far along he was.

"Did you miss me?" She smiles. "Come on, be honest now." Of course, honesty was the last thing she'd ever expect from Norman Osborn, but really, she just couldn't pass up an opportunity to screw with him a little, even though she actually needed him right now.

Stalking over, Norman circled the desk and stood right by his chair, stopping himself just moments before he would have grabbed the chair and flung it, Karla included, to the floor. His hands instead clenched at his sides.

"Get out of my seat, Karla." He pointed, one hand sliding to his hip. "I'm sure you can guess the answer for yourself. I have no intention to deal with rebellious teenagers. I've done it before, there's no reason I'm going to put up with that crap now."

Karla just shrugs, looking as calm and confident as ever as she slips out of the chair, and instead sits down on the edge of Norman's desk, legs crossed, leaning back a little. "Teenager? Really? Norman, you are as flattering as always." She leans back, maybe not so subtly flaunting it a little bit.

"You know, I've been missing that quality about you. The way that you're so commanding and know just exactly what to say. It's refreshing, and assuring. Heaven knows that Luke Cage certainly doesn't command the same respect that you always do." Was she ass-kissing? Maybe just a little, but this was a game that Karla knew how to play, and had to play if she wanted his help right now.

"You didn't forget why I came, right?"
