The eruption of Vesuvius had interested Alex-- hadn't it lain dormant for years? And how had field geologists not seen this coming? But his overwhelming concern was for the people living on the slopes of the volcano, and the devastation that he knew had occurred. Like Lorna, he had been looking at flights, but had also been browsing the network for news of other rescue efforts.

And he was raring to go. But right now he was over at her place as usual, making two mugs of coffee which he carried to where she was seated. He placed one down next to her, scanning what she was looking at over her shoulder.

"Vesuvius?" He asked, heartened that she was thinking about it too.

"Oh, yeah," she grinned back at him for a second, looking extremely excited over all the reading she was doing. "Isn't it fascinating, Alex?! It feels like forever since we've dealt with something like this."

It was a nice reminder to the old days.

"Things always cropped up whenever we tried to study something," he said, remembering, and thereby sidetracked for the moment. "Second-rate villains who just wouldn't leave us alone. But an erupting volcano threatening hundreds of thousands of villagers and even more at risk from the ash cloud? I don't think we've seen this before."

"No, we haven't," Lorna smiled, and took a drink of her coffee. "I think I was too busy getting possessed, and having you chase me down for us to come across anything this big."
