Edna wasn't a great fool and she certainly wasn't one to take hand outs from thieves in general. Visiting the bank for a business loan on the up and up was still on her to do list
( ... )
Lupin reached inside of his pocket retrieving a silver plated zippo lighter to light the cigarette at the tip of Edna's holder. He frowned as the Batista he had been gazing over waved her hands interrupting, pointing out a "No Smoking Sign." America had become a strange place to Lupin. There was hardly a household without a gun yet there were barely any places left to enjoy a smoke.
"If you think this jacket is bad you should have seen the Pink one I owned in the 80s." Lupin said. "I blame Miami Vice for making everyone think that kind of thing was cool."
"Though you are the expert at work clothes. What would you recommend in cashmere with an added layer of ulta-thin silicone rubber coated kevlar/fiberglass fabric blend?" He asked curious to see the designer's remarks.
(ooc; Sorry I tend to work evenings so I'll likely be tagging at odd times myself.)
Edna's eyes followed Lupin's gaze to notice the young woman pointing at the 'No Smoking Sign'. She was left quite unimpressed both by the woman's clothing and by the fact that smoking seemed to be such an issue. Her gaze returned to Lupin, but he lost her between the 80's and Miami Vice. She hadn't a clue what he was talking about, but she could gather it encompassed bad fashion sense. How far into the future had that stupid machine brought her anyway?
"Do you usually wear suits when you 'work'? Less flamboyant colors would be a start. It's possible to be stylish without being flashy."
Lupin shrugged. "Actually in my time I've discovered that a loud suit can be an asset. Even a millisecond subconscious distraction counts. It decreases the chances of someone aimed at your your head by keeping them staring at your torso. Which is a lot easier place to hide a bullet-proof vest."
He smiled a bit as the red haired Barista arrived to bring Edna her drink. He desperately tried to keep his eyes on level with Eda while being distracted by the server's... natural charms.
"Of course that's just for my more... flamboyant jobs. If I'm going stealthy it's usually a black bodysuit or a wetsuit if I'm required to do some underwater work." He paused before trying to make some friendly sounding conversation. "So you've never heard of Miami Vice? Great TV show with great music and a whole decade's worth of bad fashion decisions wrapped up in a one-hour format."
