WHO: Soundwave and Shockwave
WHERE: Roof of Dancitron.
WHEN: Early evening. Soundwave's last day.
WARNINGS: Definitely full of baw here.
SUMMARY: It's Soundwave's last day, and the explosive could not be diffused. In acceptance, Soundwave arms himself up in his battle armor to fly out of the City in order to not explode on anyone important. Shockwave tries to stop him.
FORMAT: TL;DR style.
NOTES:
Soundtrack start. Twenty minutes to detonation.
It's been a slow, ugly countdown. Soundwave had set it up internally to his systems once the wiring and exact timing of the explosive was analyzed. It was good to know how long he had to put things into order.
Hopefully, he did. What he had to.
Soundwave suits himself up in the basement, the lab under Dancitron. He can't fly on his own, only with the robotic suit made for him. And it's the fastest way to get out of the City.
It was conflicting at first. Lord Megatron would be disappointed. Furious, even. Disgusted by his acts of weakness. Developing mercy for the weaker creatures. Fondness for many of them.
Genuinely discovering he truly loved someone.
Lord Megatron would despise him.
So he tried to think of someone who wouldn't be. All he could think of was Skyfire, honestly. Skyfire would... would be proud of him, Soundwave thinks. Pleased with his actions. To choose emotion over war, to choose those he cared about over his loyalty programming.
He presses the button on his shoulder. "FUROR: EJECT."
The canine drone leaps out and transforms, standing ready.
"OPERATION: NEW MASTERS. ACCEPT ONLY COMMANDS FROM TWO VOCALS. PRIMARY: STARSCREAM. SECONDARY: SHOCKWAVE."
The drone sits, accepting the command. Furor will stay behind, ready to obey his new masters.
Soundwave pauses, then takes off his helmet. It's shaped to look like his true, Cybertronian self.
He doesn't need the helmet. So he places it on the table, before he makes his way upstairs towards the roof.
Did he do what he should have? Closing matters with Trowa, Lyra, and Toph. Attempting to help Thundercracker until his very last moment, probably without the Seeker even knowing.
He knows, ultimately, the only regret he has right now is that he's leaving Shockwave, and he doesn't want to, but there's quite honestly little choice about this.
He will, after all, do anything to protect him.
