Kurt was attempting to balance feeling and reason. He was very glad to see Piotr again, but having one's mind slip back and forth through time and circumstance was odd. He'd been in the Savage Land when Peter had returned, which was... Where the Russian was apparently coming from. Dreadful business, no matter how fortunate it was for them all to find Colossus alive.
He reached forward for their pitcher, tail curling and uncurling from a leg of his bar-stool as he thought. He'd gone over the general idea of the City, the Institute, mentioned a few people that were around... He shrugged as he filled up his glass again. "Any questions, in particular? I realize this is a lot to take in."
Alternate dimensions are nothing new to him, but being thrust into one so abruptly after so much isolation and torture... it's going to take him some time to get back into the swing of the sort of adventuring that used to be so commonplace for him.
"My first concern is always going to be Illyana. I hope you have been looking out for her. How is she faring here?"
"Well, I believe, for the most part." He sunk into thoughtfulness again, taking a drink before he set out to explain what he knew about Illyana. "She... She has worries, of course. She has for some time. Worries about the state of her soul and such. They were raised a little while ago, many tried to counsel her... I have not heard much about them since, so I hope that she is feeling better."
He paused, and then smiled. "She was given a puppy, a German Shepard, that she's named after you." It was something of an attempt to not worry his friend to death, and he laughed a little. "I thought it was very cute."
"I have heard about the puppy," he says with a small, warm smile. "I will perhaps have to go by Peter more often than Piotr, to avoid confusion."
But although it could normally be a commonplace concern about morality and self-respect, 'the state of her soul' means something entirely different when it comes to his little Snowflake.
"Is Illyana under the thrall of Belasco once again?"
