It hadn't exactly been easy, but after hypnotizing a few nurses to convince them that the charming Avery Tyler-a name he'd decided was fitting enough-was a very close friend of Mew's (if that didn't work, he would have just found her with other methods), and found out where the room was. And he brought flowers. After all, he was just going to pass himself off as a concerned individual who'd seen the feed of her getting shot. Of course, he had no idea what had happened, but he was going to find out.

The very high pitched voice helped him here, "...Hello?"

Mew looked up when the person said hello. She used "the person" because she wasn't sure what gender they were and, moreover, who they were. Oh well, it was time for Mew to switch on confusion and just niceness! Those being her main surface reactions to most anything, it seemed.

"Hello! Who are you?"

"Hi!" He said, smiling, "I don't mean to be a surprise visitor, but..."

He held up the flowers, "I'm Avery, and I heard that you got shot while helping people..."

"Oh!" well, a surprise visitor was always nice. She had not really expected any to come around, but it was nice to see one.

"Thank you! Nice to meet you, Avery." she said, being polite as she figured fit the situation.

Mew had to admit, she jumped a little when the door burst open like that. But seeing who it was made Mew smile. She was, without any modicum of doubt, incredibly happy to see Billy.

She shook her head, still smiling, "Just wait a few days, alright?"

Mew smiled, "I'm alright. I am now, at least." She was very glad for the people who had rescued her, after all. Without them, she was pretty sure she would have died. And that would have been even less fun. She still had a lot on her mind, though, but she had shoved all of that back for Billy.

She sighed, "I wish I could get up out of bed, though."

OPEN TO RUA if he is coming along gallitrap June 14 2010, 00:06:21 UTC
The past few days had been stressful. The last few months had been stressful, to be honest, but that didn't really compare to the shaking dread she'd felt when she heard about Remus, or the continuing worry that trembled through Ruka's torso and throat at the thought of what happened to Mew. She was upset, and angry, and betrayed-Mew had promised that nothing would happen to her, and look how well that turned out. She was lucky she hadn't been killed, like Remus had, and Ruka thought she should count herself lucky that neither of them had been lost forever, or replaced by other versions of themselves that had no memories of the City, or of the bonds of friendship they once carried ( ... )

And there she was, the person Mew was most excited and most worried about seeing. It was Ruka and that was really awesome because of the whole closest friend in the City deal, but Mew had broken her promise to her by getting shot. In Mew's book, and she imagined in Ruka's as well, that was a big deal. After all, Ruka was one of the last people Mew wanted to worry over anything. She did not deserve that. Nobody deserved to have to worry on Mew's part. And yet they still did, especially when things like this happened. But it was the effect on Ruka that Mew was most worried about.

Well, time for a greeting! Sitting and staring and reflecting would not get anything done here, after all. So she gave a faint, yet sincere, smile and spoke, "Hey, Ruka."

Ruka smiled weakly in return, slipping into the room and pushing the door shut behind her. The bag on her wrist swung from the motion, banging loudly against the door, and Ruka winced. She doubted it would break for something like that, but still.

Holding the plastic handles tighter, she made her way to Mew's bedside with a sense of cautiousness in her gait. Even if her heart seemed torn on what to feel, Ruka pushed down her more negative emotions as far as she could- for now, at least. She set the bag on the floor next to Mew's bed when she sat down on its edge, gloved hands pressing against the mattress for balance.

Ruka didn't say anything at first. In fact, she didn't say anything at second or at third, either, a jumble of words bouncing around her head and in her throat, unable to come out without her forcing them back, unhappy with every half-formed idea. She was upset with Mew; she was upset with everyone. She was angry and frustrated that all the people closest to her kept getting hurt, and killed, and Ruka still wasn't ( ... )

Mew watched her, vaguely wondering what was in the bag. That was not of importance right now, though. What was important was that, ill-versed in many aspects of human emotion though she still was (not nearly as many as, say, a month ago, but still) Mew could tell that at least one thing was weighing heavily on Ruka's mind. Perhaps more ( ... )
