The real question is what's causing it, if it's not just the machine being a pain in the ass again.

Not enough evidence to form a theory as of yet. Haven't yet managed to form a pattern connecting the incidents, and a few that I have flagged I am unable to confirm are actual behavioral changes.

You believe the Porter capable of this?

Haven't you followed past instances? The porter is capable of a lot. The rules for it are... hazily defined, at best.

It seems to be able to affect the people it brings in, though, on nearly any level it wants. There's been times we've been swapped with versions of ourselves from the past or future, myself included.

The machine is always first and foremost for suspect, but not the only one. And punching it does nothing.

I'd posit that it's likely the result of a chemical imbalance, neurons firing and misfiring at the wrong time for the wrong thing. I'd be perfectly willing to take a closer look, of course, maybe prod it into operating normally.
