I can't say so with any certainty, of course, I only have is an idea which isn't much like proof at all. But... after four years, if one hasn't familiarized themselves with the antics of certain schoolmates, they're either very thick or very fond of pranks.

Perhaps you should have the pipes investigated. I'm fortunate enough to be my own landlord, but I'm told others in New York can be quite stingy about that sort of thing.
