[ There is a Luna on your screens, City. She's sitting on a bench in the park and looking exhausted. Not to mention sad. Still, when she turns to the camera, she smiles. Forever an optimist. ]
I don't suppose any of you have seen Neville Longbottom lately? I've been looking for him everywhere.
He's--
A very dear friend of mine. I hope he's all right.

I hope you find him, Miss Selene, if only for your own sake.
I never really celebrated Halloween before Hogwarts. I think it will be just a normal day for me this year.

Thank you, Tom. I appreciate that.
Not being home is no reason to forgo celebrating, even if you do miss this Hogwarts place terribly. [ Yes. Still keeping up that pretext. Oh, Tom, you and your crazy belief that you can do magic. ]

It's not so much missing it as I wouldn't know how to go about celebrating it the Muggle way. [Well, he does, but it's nothing he'd ever be interested in] At Hogwarts, it's generally just a feast and some decorations, though the ghosts did do a show for us one year.

[ Strange that someone who's never experienced it would say that with such wistfulness... ]
But! If I were you, I would look at it as an opportunity to try something new. That's part of the fun of this place. With everyone coming from so many worlds, there's so many different traditions, and a real wealth of interesting ways to do old things.
[ Not that she wants to encourage Tom to indulge in his idea of "fun". At all. ]

Ah, putting it that way...it could be interesting seeing how everyone else celebrates. But I'm afraid I'm more the type to sit back and observe than to join in.

[ She doesn't sound excited by that. At all. ]
I didn't get invited to any parties, really, until recently. Even so, I prefer watching people -- that's the real fun. Not that it isn't nice to dance and chat and such once in a while.

There is quite a bit one can learn from just watching. [and listening.] Your friends didn't invite you to any?

Everyone at school thought I was a bit Lo- odd, you see.
