A rather interesting way to introduce oneself.

Regardless. Welcome to the City.

Quite.

Though it seems introductions aren't mutual, here.

They do not necessarily have to be. Though I believe it is in one's best interest to introduce oneself.

My name is Charles Xavier.

No, of course. Given how common the crave to be mysterious. But it does make the formalities so much simpler.

Ah yes. Though I suppose I should call you Professor?

I do agree.

Oh. Yes, I am a Professor. You know much about me all ready, I imagine? Fascinating.

Come now, Professor. You must expect me do to my homework.

And it's hardly anything of extraordinary powers to be able to read. I know only what you post publicly about yourself.

I suppose I ought to!

You would be quite taken with surprise, to be honest.

ffffff--- i just don't know how to force sherlock into small talk... sh_consulting October 2 2011, 14:53:49 UTC
Surprise? Hardly. I am all too used to everyone else needing to be told in clear language what is right before their eyes.

As a man who works at the Institute, I suppose you would be one to ask about Import powers. I am aware that many come from universes where they were already metahumans, and have heard and seen reports of those who were once normal humans now having powers. Is this a certainty, or merely a common occurrence? Does everyone who come through the porter gain powers in some way?

oh god i know what that's like with characters~ grooviestmutant October 4 2011, 07:07:36 UTC
To be honest, it appears that it is everyone whom is brought to the City that acquires powers in some form of another.

I have taught students who came to the City with their mutations from their own world, as well as students whom've only just recently acquired them.

Fascinating.

And is there a way to discover what one's own power is?

I have yet to notice any difference.

Actually, I have not found one. Though I do not imagine it does not exist!

It would certainly be worth searching for.

Perhaps.

However, for now, not worth my time. It is enough to know that they are probably there. I've never needed them before and I sincerely doubt being in need of them now.

Despite the regularity of powered individuals here.

Hm, perhaps you will feel as if you need them more once you have discovered the powers that the Porter has given to you.

Doubtful. As long as I have my mind, I will always be effective.

Everything else is transport.

Certainly a view worth keeping, I suspect.
