Thank you, Charles. Pietro and I are going to the ball tomorrow, but I'm not sure if we have other plans.

Ah-unfortunately, I am not. Though only by a year! [ His smile is evident in his voice and he chuckles. ]

I am sure it will be splendid. I ought to find you a gift.

That's not necessary, really. Though perhaps you'll save a dance for me at the ball?

That would be lovely, I would certainly do so. You do not think Pietro would mind?

He better not. It's my birthday present, after all.

[ Charles laughs at that in earnest, sounding rather pleased. ] Ah, yes, of course.

You know I will do my best to impress.

You'd better! I'm a bit of a dancer, myself.

[ A further chuckle, and Charles sounds legitimately quite amused. ]

Are you really? I am afraid I've not been in practise for a while; ah, I hope you will be kind to me.

Absolutely. We'll have fun, no matter if we're both good or both terrible.
