Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. I'll...tentatively keep her on the roster for now, though marked with excused absences. You never know how long these things will last.

It's a common worry in these situations, and not without its merits. I wish I could tell you otherwise, but there's unfortunately no way to really know for sure.

Well, "not here before" and "suddenly torn from you" are really very different. I should hope she'll at least be alright at home, but that doesn't necessarily make things easier for you.

I've seen this one happen far too often to think so.
