How much would it take to make you kill somebody? Would it be easy for you? What if they killed people? What if they killed someone that you cared about, like your kid?

There aren’t any wrong answers, but I’m going to call bullshit if anybody says that they would never kill. Everyone has a limit.

Well, I wouldn't kill anyone just to get some strangers to answer my cockamamie questions.

That's not at all presumptive. What makes you think I've killed anybody? Not that I won't, though.

Now look who's inferring. I didn't say you killed anyone, I said that I wouldn't under a specific set of circumstances.

Hell if I know about you. But usually when someone starts getting philosophical about this stuff it's 'cause they're afraid they might do it or 'cause they need to prove to everyone else that they'd do it too.

Point taken.

It's a bit late for me to start being afraid of this kind of thing. [He's conveniently ignoring the latter point.] So, what's your thought on the matter?

Very cryptic. I like the "tick-tock." Kind of old-school, like a pulp crime thriller.

With the type of people here, the mask and tights crowd, if you don't follow the traditions, they won't know whose side your on.

Is that right? You seem to be going for morally ambiguous vigilante. That doesn't really put you on either side, does it?

And you wouldn't believe how much that bothers them.

You running low on inspiration, or just out of new material?

I am a font of inspiration, but there's nothing wrong in going with a classic.

[A beat.]

Up for answering some questions?

If I'm ever impressed with you, it is only at how incredibly irritating you are.

Ah, so you know me then. Too bad I can't say I remember you.

From whatever past me was here?

I've killed before, when it's been necessary to protect my Captain or crew.

[She's heard plenty of gunshots. Those don't worry her, really. She has no reason to feel anything for this man. For all she knows, people could have a reason to chase him.]

Heroes do what is necessary to protect the majority, even if the majority hates them -- or tries to stop them.

Why the questions?

Very noble. Certainly nobody could think that fulfilling your duty is wrong. Are you military or other?

I thought it'd be more interesting than the usual questions that show up on this thing. I know how to read the pamphlet, I know where I am.

I have military training, but I'm more of a machinist.

You are one of the returning imPorts, then.

[Jason hasn't researched too much into his past incarnations, but he's not going to let it show that it bugs him.]

Looks that way. Can't say I found this place all that memorable, though.
