[panning over the scrapyard, showing a dozen or so of melted piles of unrecognizable, useless metal and plastic, and some spots where the stuff was simply... vaporized, with black scorch marks and stretches of glass covering the ground]
[the large bugs from before are visibly skittering around on the ground, and what appears to have once been a simple patch of weeds is now overflowing with thorns and vines]
All wild, like home. This all territory. Here, all to Sav-Mart way.
[not too far from where he is, a pair of scrapyard workers are leaning over the fence and making incredibly obscene gestures/noises at a group of passing women]
I King again. I crush all make challenge. Human rules not boss me now.
[something that resembles a sparrow with half-molted feathers and patches of slick green scales lands nearby and picks a fight with one of the large beetles]

[later in the evening, newscasts mention a minor panic caused when a strange-looking man thought to have been laying dead on the road was reported to have abruptly mutated into some kind of 'monster' in the middle of an intersection before severely damaging a few cars and getting away during the ensuing hysteria]
[they play ten seconds of very chaotic cell-phone footage; the only things that can be reliably seen/heard is a distant roar and the brief glimpse of something black and jagged before the front half of a nearby vehicle explodes, ruining any further visibility]
