Ironic, isn't it?

[Beatrice (freshly out of the hospital) is shown walking around the park (where, ironically, she first made herself known), sounding and looking more like her usual self---with her usual haughty grin and imperious intonation.  However, her grin still doesn't quite reach her eyes, which still look a bit weary, but with some renewed ( Read more... )

[bored, marginally grumbly:] There a new rule 'bout postin' on this network where everything's gotta be a fraggin' waste-a point-out-th'obvious space?

[Psh; another reckless child trying to cause trouble. Beatrice cackles coldly.]

My dear boy, a word of advice:

Never state your opinions before you acknowledge the facts.

Then what is your definition of useful, child? Please, enlighten me.

[So condescending. She might be a troll, but she's in no mood to be trolled.]

If you won, then why do you feel like nothing's been resolved?

Did the "threat" get away? If that's the case, then it's not a real victory at all.

[Beatrice frowns a moment. A new face, a young girl at that---and clearly someone who shouldn't be involved in any of this. So, she's going to be vague, and look unreadable, taking a moment to smoke from her pipe.]

If he's gone [ she avoids the word 'dead' ] then you've won. He can't hurt anybody else, and that's what's most important.

[Beatrice smiles sadly at Kuina.]

If only it were that simple...but you are right, in a way. But what about the people he has already hurt? The people who may have cared about him? What are they to do, now?

Furthermore, there's a chance he may return, and his return may bring with it new troubles, perhaps worse troubles.

Wining is just the first part of it. It takes a lot of time before anything's really over.

There are never any easy answers, following a loss of life---that much, is true. All we can do in the end, is rebuild. Pick up the pieces and find a new path. Such is the eternal cycle that is life and death.

Finding a new path can be difficult for some. But what you're saying is true.

It may be difficult, but one can never grow unless they continue moving forward.
