[A warmer sounding chuckle, as Beatrice switches the feed over to voice since it's Lyra.]

Precisely. And yet, humans are quite set in their ways, at the same time.

People outside of authority, mostly, are the ones who accept change. The ones who are in power, on the other hand, see it as a risk, and thus come to fear it.

Without change, we can never move forward. Evolve. After all, change is what has propelled the human race to where it is now, no, Bakura? It's just a shame that some are just so set in their ways--- [And abruptly, Beatrice's tone of voice becomes disdainful.] I believe you know who I am referring to.

You can hope, pray, wish for him...but he's stuck in a cage and cycle of his own making.

[She doubts someone like Keith will ever change. Not from all she's heard about him---but she'll allow Bakura to change the subject. After a slight pause, Beatrice sounds a lot more cheerful.]

[Beatrice chuckles. What a clever kid.]

Indeed, indeed. I simply don't understand why some would dislike or oppose change----without it, we'd never get anywhere.

Change is inevitable. Whether or not things should change is debatable.

Yes, you're quite right, on both counts.

So. Do you believe things should change?

Some things. Not everything. The question's too open-ended to answer.

Then, I'll make it more specific for you.

If there were one part of society that you would like to change, what would it be?

A sensible answer. How do you feel about authority?

[A delay, as Beatrice starts cackling.]

That makes two of us.

But if you could try and change it, what part of it would you change, first and foremost?
