Why, Doctor. You shouldn't have. [ She smiles her vaguely cruel smile, reaching out to accept the package. Surprisingly dexterous fingers pick the wrapping apart; she holds the unwrapped earrings up into the light-- as if admiring a particularly lovely specimen. ] And here I have nothing to give to you in return.
