[Someone's trying hard not to freak out. It's not really working.]

Okay, waking up in a different place than the one you went to sleep at isn't that weird all things considered. There's been weirder stuff than this. Weirder stuff than something like-- I don't know, sleepwalking. That just happens sometimes. Sleepwalking is normal. Sort of. Right ( Read more... )

Yeaaahh. But I can't have been ported out, I didn't go home or anything.

[pause]

Do you think it was aliens? [best not to try comprehend this train of thought lmao]

[lmsdas give him a moment of hesitance at that train of thought before he humors Wally

kinda] ... No. [uhm] I don't think so.

The same happened to me--the machine brought me in with a month's difference. [pause.] I don't remember going back, either.

Are you sure? Because that doesn't make sense. Where would you go if you're not send home? Would you be stuck in some kind of frozen limbo?

It's gotta be aliens.

There you went.

It's probably just... You know. Something weird. This place is weird.

Hey, kiddo.

I think I might like my alien-theory better. At least that makes sense.

Hey, old man.

Yeah, well... Aliens are weird, too.

Gonna start that again, huh? Geez. I should watch what I say.

Not as weird as being stuck in limbo or whatever. I've dealt with aliens before.

[You can just hear the grin in his voice.] You started it.

Not to my knowledge, but hey, I'm sure weirder things have happened around here. And hi, by the way.

True, but you'd think someone would have noticed. Unless I was sleeprunning... then yeah. Hi.

Sleeprunning definitely doesn't sound pleasant.

It would make sense. A little. No one could have seen me then.

I've never heard of that. But maybe something's on your mind? [pause, maybe that wasn't helpful]

[backpedal!] Sleepwalking isn't that big a deal.

Something on my mind?

And it is if you do it for a month.

I once heard that if something's bothering you and you ignore it, sometimes it pops up as a problem with your body. Psychology or something.

Do you end up doing things while you're sleepwalking? Has anyone told you?

Haven't heard that one before. But I don't think... anything has been really bothering me.

I don't know. No one has.

I've never heard of sleepwalking for that long, but until I arrived here, I had never heard of people being kidnapped from their worlds and appearing in a City to fight crime, either.

Yeah, the City does that. You can't count on anything normal.

I've gotten used to it somewhat, but it's always sad when someone you've befriended is ported out

Ah, yeah... You can get used to it, but it never stops being hard.
