[The following is a hacked broadcast, aired during primetime of the 13th, and completely untraceable (though why would you try?). The camera is pointed at a man of about thirty, seated at a desk with a huge bay window behind him looking onto a city skyline at nightfall. Those of you who actually care about politics will realize that this is L.A.'s mayor! My, he's looking trim. I wonder what he has to add to the proceedings? ]
It appears that we find ourselves at something of an impasse. Our beloved president has declared Los Angeles county as a hostile, all due to -- well, shall we say, a misunderstanding. The attack in Washington, D.C., was a great tragedy. Momentous. But it is not one that our city can take the blame for. While it is true that we have become host to a particular organization that appears to have been the likely culprit, nothing can be proven. Without concrete evidence, no action can be taken.
[He allows himself a small smile, tilting his head back.]
So allow me to provide it.
The group known as the HIVE which you fear and loathe, reasonably or not, is under my command. They obey my instructions, and I obey no one's. That virus that the island of the City is ruled by is an affront, a downright insult to all of our values - and she has something that I very much want. As such, we shall be continuing our operations, with or without the approval of the rest of the country.
I refuse to be intimidated by little men with their little red phones. If a conflict is what you so desire, mister President, you may have it.
[Right before the broadcast ends, he turns away from the camera to move offscreen, muttering.] I have been waiting to say that for months.
[ooc; because this is a news broadcast, comments will not be replied to. feel free to respond anyway!]
