[Surprise heroes, anti-heroes, villains and civilians! It's time for another breaking news story featuring everyone's favorite new superhero team, THE AVENGERS!
The camera focuses on the news anchorman, who is sitting at a desk across from Victoria Hand, who is sitting back in her chair, arms crossed and a confident smile. The anchor turns to face the viewers.]
Once again, the United States and the world has reason to thank the team that seemingly sprang up overnight, but is already becoming a new sensation and a symbol of hope and justice, the Avengers.
Two days ago, the media world was shaken when five reporters were abducted and held hostage by a guerrilla faction in Darfur. Were the faction's demands not met, the hostages would surely have been executed. However, thanks to the brave efforts of these heroes.
[The screen flashes to video footage of the Avengers carrying the injured and beaten hostages out of a building, while the guerrilla forces are handed over to authorities.]
Amazingly, no casualties were reported.
[The anchorman turns to face Victoria.]
Tonight, we have Victoria Hand, representative for the Avengers, in the studio with us. First, let me welcome you here with us.
Now then, who exactly are the Avengers?
[Victoria clears her throat and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.]
They are heroes with a common goal, a common sense of justice and preservation or human rights. The Avengers are necessary in today's chaotic world, because together, with a unified purpose, they face the challenges that a single person, be they human, mutant, etc., cannot face alone.
They are for the people not only in the City, but for America and the world, and I sincerely hope that, over time, their actions will show their noble intention, and the world will put their faith in them as I have.
