It was a while ago I requested all of next week off (4 days following the Monday holiday). As I noted Monday
I've been considering whether to cancel my time-off plan as there's very little I can do with a whole week off right now. "Oh, but you can just relax at home!" doesn't cut it for a whole week. Especially right now, with the Coronavirus lockdown, where home is also my workplace. I want to use my time off to get away. But at the same time I do want to relax. So, do I keep the time-off plan or postpone it?
This morning my company made the situation even more complicated, but in a way that ultimately made it easier for me to reach an answer. At the last moment the company is giving us all a holiday Friday. Combined with the Monday holiday (Memorial Day) we'll have a four-day weekend. I decided that while taking a whole week off is too much, a four day weekend is "just right". So I canceled my time-off request for next week and now I'm thinking about when and how to take days off across June and July- when hopefully the dangers of Coronavirus subside enough that it's reasonable to start traveling again.
