Sunday during Memorial Day weekend was a day of rest... mostly. We took it easy in the morning, recovering from
our great hike at Zim Zim Falls the day before, then went out for lunch and a few shopping errands. We came back home around 2pm thinking we might just while away the afternoon at the swimming pool and hot tub... but then decided to
hike the Mars-like orange salt ponds in Alviso. Alviso is close by, though, so we got back home with plenty of time left to hang out at the pool.
Sunday's weather was warmer than Saturday's and definitely warmer than
Friday's chilly 66° high. It was... maybe 74° as a high? Alas, that's warm enough to make the pool look inviting, especially with the long days of sunshine we're getting, but it wasn't warm enough to really want to go swimming, even in a heated pool.
We sat out on the pool deck for a while, then took a good, long soak in the hot tub, then sat out by the pool again until we'd mostly dried off. By then it was already after 6pm (we'd started after 4) and we were getting hungry for dinner. We headed back to our place to make a simple dinner of grilled hot dogs on the barbecue. After dinner we relaxed around the house and went to bed early. What a great way to spend a (mostly) relaxing Sunday on a holiday weekend!
