Plans Change. RIP, Nate.

It was supposed to be a fun, relaxing weekend. My wife would join me in Phoenix after my sales training. We'd check in to a hotel on Friday with several swimming pools, a water slide, and a lazy river rafting course, and spend the weekend splashing around in the warm weather. But then we got terrible news on Thursday: Her oldest brother, Nathan G., had died suddenly at his home in Philadelphia.

We cancelled our weekend plans and made with haste to Pennsylvania. She left home on a redeye Thursday night, I left Phoenix partway through the workday on Friday. We are at her parents' house along with her surviving brother, Marty. Other family and friends have been arriving steadily since Saturday.

I will write more about the deceased after I finish gathering my thoughts.
