[Uhura is settling in fast - if nothing else, she's adaptable. She didn't bother acknowledging Kirk's order to meet at the bar; instead she just shows up.]

Why am I not surprised you're holding a meeting in a bar?

Okay... [Thinking cap is clearly on.] So there can be electricity, and is, in certain places, but for some reason they... whoever they are, don't want us to have it.

Which means if we did have it, we might be able to use it against them.

I wonder what sort of equipment I could find in the shops here. Depending on what I find I could possibly rig up some sort of rudimentary radio communicator. Then, of course, there would be the problem of getting to these tunnels and I'm sure this barrier stops all frequencies, so we'd need to find some kind of breach in it, and then find an open frequency...

You and Spock should look into it. Bones has his tricorder, but, to no one's surprise, it doesn't work.

It'll give me something to do, anyway, other than spend all day following what other people are saying in the journals.

Maybe getting out and meeting people will help. Talk to Buffy. She'd be glad to have another chick friend.

[Facepalm, Jim. Facepalm.]

I have talked to Buffy, actually. She seems... nice.
