Do not put me up on a pedestal, because I will fall. I will become lower in your thoughts not because of where I am, but because I was never so high as to deserve the pedestal in the first place. While I don't exactly put you on a pedestal, I do want you to understand that you are an exceptional person. And you probably are better than many (general population... you surround yourself with some pretty damn good people that are pretty similar to you).

In spite of and even *for* your faults.

The major difference I see in you versus the general population that makes you a better human being (in my mind) is that you see your faults. You accept them and you own up to them. If something's bugging you, you talk about it with the person in question. You don't attempt to cover up for any shortcomings or immediately assume that someone's not worthy of your friendship because they made a bad decision or did something you disagree with.

My brain just clicked. I don't have you on a pedestal, but you are a role model to me in a lot of ways. You're younger than me and you have so much more stability in your life than I do. Although we have quite a few of the same faults, you deal with them in ways I wish I could.

How about if i just put you on a six inch riser? Yanno, one of those nice carpeted jobs they use at conventions and public events for presentations? Very safe. i can get someone from facilities over there to set that right up for you.
