I'm still debating whether to go into town for this Live8 shindig, or go to the country and visit friends. The Philadelphia airport has been pure chaos all week. At least the International terminal has been (I can see it easily from my desk.) One of my airport friends told me it's all because of Live8. If this is how the airport was, I can't ( Read more... )

That sounds like a fun night! It's been a while since I've had a good laugh. There's a local comedy club here, I may go check it out at some point.

What exactly do you do in the airport? Have you seen any celebrities/musicians arriving for Live8?

I liked the humor of the comedians on stage last night. Their twists on things and the way they portray the stories really make a difference. There was one guy last night, he wasn't much of a hit with the crowd. He was a bit too racial for my taste. To the point that it dominated his material. He really did't have much else going. The other guys and gal had more diverse material. We really laughed a whole lot. It was wonderful.

Like every major airport, there's always Construction and Renovations going on. I'm in Construction Management. What do I do? Whatever needs to get done. I don't really have a title or anything like that. But I walk around the airport and make sure things are getting done/moving along. One of my friends said, "So, you boss the contractors around." Yeah... I guess that sums it up.

Did that answer your question?

I still remember the first comedy club I went to w/ [info]sharonc258 a couple years ago. We sat at the table practically on the stage. One of the comedians needed 3 female volunteers to come up on stage. What did he have them do?

Pretend to fake an orgasm on stage. (umm... yeah.)

That was absolutely delightful.

I doubt I'll ever forget that experience. Why? Because I was one of the volunteers.

*sigh*
