He fished his phone out, since while he secretly liked the song, it would be kind of dumb to assign it as a ringtone just so he could listen to it play. "Mel!"

"Hey Harris," she said leaning back on the broken down couch. "How's life in Fandom these days?"

"We just escaped from a volcano, I'm--" Pause. "--currently hanging upside down--" Pause, slight wheezing. "--But not anymore because ow, and I asked Bridge to marry me, so not bad all told except for the upside down thing, boy was that a mistake. How's life in the future these days?"

"Velcro-ed. I've had enough damn needles in my hip this month." Which was making Xander question his current choice of seating arrangement, even though it was mostly just itchy by now. He curled one leg tighter around the bar below him, and rubbed at the back of his neck with his free hand.
