You will find a ton of friends at AA meetings. I'll even take you to one of the open meetings if you like. I'm not an alcoholic so I can only go to open meetings, but I know of at least a couple.

Anyway, that offer stands if you ever, ever, ever want. Even in five years, you can call me up or leave me a comment and be like, "Remember five years ago when you said you'd take me to a meeting?" and I'll totally do it.

Also, I work downtown these days. I am available for lunch anytime, given a day's notice. I also go rollerskating at least once a week and do many other evening activities that do not involve drinking. Such as walking in the park, watching episodes of a number of television dramas, sewing up hacked-apart band t-shirts, and makign sock monkeys.

Let me know if you want to hang out. Just saying.

Thanks Becca. You're so fucking awesome.

Which meetings do you know of? I have the listing of all of them in the area (there are tons), and wasn't sure if some are better/more fitting than others.

I really, really, really appreciate your invitation. Rollerskating sounds like a great way for me to have a blast while hurting myself. Skateland?

Any of the Capitol City meetings are quite good, though they can be a little big. I think they are closed, except for once a month when people get their chips, which are the meetings that I've been to. Those are downtown at the church at 11th & Washington The one that I know of for sure that's open. I just emailed a friend of mine who's in the program to get her suggestions as well. An open meeting is definitely a good bet for your first time anyway, because you can attend without committing to the program.

Also, my phone number is (360) 556-9137. I have unlimited texts, if you are texter.
