That said, your post here does seem to confirm that I won't need to worry about something: I often worry that people rave about B5 in nostalgia, but that the storytelling would be, by the stanards of someone watching the show fresh and in the present day, outdated.
Definitely not. And this is with years of people telling me "B5 is awesome, you're going to love it!" so that I probably had expectations.
And I mean, yes, S1 isn't actually very good, but when I go back and watch what I skipped, I'll probably enjoy it more now for loving the characters, as I'm coming to do. Because how can I not love characters so well developed (and in so many cases, acted, even if some are awful - the casting for this show was really weird!)
I had been thinking that maybe I should do that - just come in on season two. Nearly everyone says season 1 is a little weak, and really, that's true with many shows.
Is skipping season 1 something you'd recommend? Or are there episodes you think are must watches?

But it also seems like a huge undertaking, at least for the pace I watch television at; I started a Buffy rewatch in 2006, and I've just hit season 7.
