Guns and Loss

Aug 12, 2010 17:50

Aleece and I were looking for old college drama friends on Facebook. We found someone we were fairly close to and realized that his Facebook page was not a proper page, but a memorial. He had shot himself last April.

I did not know you were against guns, I was begining to think I am one of the only ones who was, sadly I had to go through what you are right now when my Aunt shot herself when I was a kid, it never feels better but there are times when it wont hurt as bad as it does right now. ::hugs::

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend. I agree, guns have been used improperly for many years and there needs to be more strict restrictions for who has them in their possession. Or, like you said, to eliminate them altogether. of course then other weapons would the gun's place and that's not so good either.

I have thought about this many times and I am becoming more and more convinced that it's the people who DON'T vent and talk about their problems who are the ones who actually commit suicide. A lot of people seem to think I will, because I am vocal about my pain... but I think the opposite is true... I think, that by being vocal about it, I am releasing whatever poison is in me, even if it doesn't ever go away completely, as you well know.

In any case, if you want someone to talk to, you have a friend in me. I hope this post of yours will help you on the track towards working through your emotions over the loss of your friend.

((hugs))
