That name sounds familiar. But it's kind of sad that she saved herself just to die later.

It was a choice.

The FBI never caught the man who kidnapped her. He was presumed dead. She was kidnapped, held for eighteen months before she showed up on her parents front door step without any explanation.

It was her choice to die? I don't get why she would fight to survive just to choose to die. That doesn't make sense to me. I mean... that means she fought to just suddenly quit fighting.

[Rebecca's detachment from who she used to be is the only thing that keeps her talking about this in the third person]

She didn't--it was more a phoenix's death than anything. She couldn't be Becky George anymore because...nothing was ever same after wards. Her parents and her brother couldn't handle what had been done to her. They tried at first and then...I'm not even sure they remember they've got a daughter now. It would have been easier if she hadn't survived for them in the long run.
