For over a year now, the Toronto Star has had no official access to Rob Ford: he was so pissed off about an article they published in the summer of 2010 that he basically excommunicated them from his campaign, and, later, from his mayoralty. The other papers are behind the Star because they dont want to condone that kind of precedent. Which is pretty admirable, except, if they really meant it they would just all get together and stop covering any of the mayors press conferences.

Its easy to applaud from the sidelines.

Didn't the Star pull out all the stops to try to prevent Ford's election in the first place? That didn't work - so I'm not sure how much effect this new campaign against him will have.
