Well you do attack a number of very poignant issues that are prevalent within the Canadian landscape, it is true that there is a glass cieling in parliament that is set by the way it is held. The top jobs do go to Men as compared to women when it comes to a numbre of top positions on minsterial staff etc.

However, what you are doing is you are missing the crux of the matter of things that Status of Women in Canada do which is the reason they are an important department in the civil service.

1. Apparently a lot of people in this group don't understand this, but women experience the world in a different way then men do, they have different physilogical, social, and cultural needs. This isn't just a matter of child births, and controlling their own reproductive abilities (which is important) but many other issues as well.

2. This group does research that otherwise is overlooked, it monitors problems in the work place, immigration, health care and acts as an important watchdog group.

Not really , gender issues ecompass what you mention, and have a large scope
