Disappointing as it is (that the pope has nothing better to do), one of the news reports tonight pointed out that his message is only going to mean anything to people who already agree with him anyway.

I also like this comment from the forum of that article: "From what I can tell, most Canadian Catholics consider the Pope like a senile grandfather, to be respected but avoided as much as possible."

He's actually right about something. Course he's wrong and god has no place in the 'public sphere'. Neither does he for that matter.
