Yeah so I expect a certain amount of sexism in anime because it's there, okay. I can live with it.
But seriouslyyyyyyyyyyyy
So you've got Saber aka Arthuria or whatever, who was actually King Arthur only see King Arthur was actually a girl crossdressing. That's cool. But quit it with the pity party! What the hell is with all this BOO HOO IT'S SO TRAGIC THAT YOU, A YOUNG GIRL, WERE ROPED INTO THAT AWFUL RESPONSIBILITY.
Because a boy being roped into it is okay? Because growing up as a girl at that time, being the chattel of every passing male, married off at 14 and dead of overchildbearing or whatnot at 30 is better?
BECAUSE BEING FUCKING KING ARTHUR AND BECOMING A LEGEND REMEMBERED ALL OVER THE WORLD FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS IS SUCH A TRAGIC FATE, AMIRITE?
But NOOOOOOOOooo, our poor girl did not get to ~~enjoy going to the beach~~. The guy who summoned her has ~~difficulty~~ reconciling what was done to a poor, innocent girl. If they actually mentioned some of the issues Arthur had to deal with as-seen-in-Arthurian-legend MAYBE I'd be sympathetic.
But boo hoo about not enjoying the sea. Because as a miserable farmer girl she would have TOTES had fun at the beach every day.
I don't know maybe I'm exaggerating but I'm seriously not feeling the enormous tragedy here. Also, YOU WERE KING ARTHUR plz start behaving like it now, wtf. You'd think she'd get more annoyed at being belittled after being a king all her life.
